Self portrait in a sun glass by rdevill Self portrait in a sun glass by rdevill
Yeah... it's my fish eyes reflection in the sun glass of my little sister, Naomi Devil :) Left to her my mother and behind her with the back pack: Jan van der Woning, my favorite panorama photographer... ;)

The picture was taken on the main street of "Szentendre", a nice town close to Budapest.

Oh yes, it is :D Although not in English, but in Hungarian: "Ördög" Since both of us (my sister and me) wanted to spread our works internationally we decided to use the English translation of our last name :) That's how I became DeVill, and my sister Naomi Devil. (Oh yeah... we didn't agree on the written form, and I didn't want to use my first name as well, so just omitted that one...) My father on the other hand chose to use the Latin translation of our last name, and he is known as "Diabolus" (He owns and runs Artspace Diabolus on Second Life which is the biggest art gallery there :) )

Makes me wonder how a guy would've gotten the name Ördög then. Have you ever checked out your family tree for some interesting facts on your background?

We have no f*cking idea as well :D Our last name had a written form Ördögh, where the "h" was there to represent patrician origins. It was removed in the 1950s when the socialist government banned the use of non phonetic last names in Hungary. We did find out, that our ancestors were of pretty high rank in the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy (19th century) and already had that last name, but no records or what so ever were found about the earlier history of the family :(

Well nevertheless...that's just awesome :D
Not that I'm a devil worshiper or anything, nor am I a believer. But if my name was Devil or God, that'll just bring a smile on my face. 'The doctor is ready to see you mr. God/Devil'

Ohh... it gets even funnier when people get to see me like this: [link] or like this: [link] Also my parents had a wired sense of humor, and gave me the first name: Rafael... Come ooon... the only thing that could be worse is being called Angel Devil, or God Devil
