Never forget to ask...

When you arrive somewhere with photographic equipment, never forget to ask about local events! I did forget to ask about it last summer in Salamanca. The result: me running towards the sound of fireworks I didn't know about, with tripod in hand, two cameras in my neck, and a lens in my other hand. I was looking for a good place to take photos from, but by that time it was hopeless to get anywhere near the fireworks, or to compose any of the landmarks of beautiful Salamanca into the photos. There were so many people, every time I finally seemed to get close to the show I hit an unbreakable wall of human crowds.... finally I settled for this spot, from where I could catch some of the highest explosions with the less affectionate citizens of Salamanca in the foreground. Not nearly as good as it could be - no wonder I waited that long with uploading it - but looks fine after all...

Damn it... next time I travel somewhere? I'll definitely ask the locals about events!
