I've heard Madrid has become one of the Cities with more increase of architecture these last years. At first I thought this was a picture from Dubai. I'd prefer to find, if I went to Spain, a city with touches of the past, with another kind of architecture more in a baroque style, like in Barrios Goticos in Barcelona. I don't like this thing of modern structures and skyscrappers. Yet the picutre is a good one, those founts look like ghosts, and the towers towering.

Well... this is only on the northen ridge of Madrid, close to the highway, so I can assure you it doesn't disturb the historic old town. It is pretty much safe from all that :)
